Back-to-School Backpack - Adopt a Family

Back-to-School Backpack Program

Since 2002, Foothill Family Service has been providing backpacks filled with school supplies to many of the children it serves throughout the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys who could not otherwise afford to purchase backpacks and necessary school supplies. Initiated by the Friends of Foothill Family, and now also supported by local community members, organizations and businesses, the Back-to-School Backpack Program helps our young clients in elementary, middle and high school to start the school year right with the tools they need to be successful. This past summer, almost 1,600 backpacks were collected, filled and distributed to clients at events at each of our Family Centers. Thank you to Shari Domenghini, 2007-2008 Friends of Foothill Family Backpack Chair, for her hard work and dedication!
