On Saturday, March 7, 2020, Foothill Family proudly honored and celebrated the 20th Anniversary of our philanthropic guild of women, the Friends of Foothill Family, during this year’s annual gala, A Royal Affair.
The Angel City Trumpeters greeted each guest with fanfare as they entered the beautiful California Club in Downtown Los Angeles. Attendees enjoyed the eloquent sounds of Baroque Studios Burbank while they perused the exquisite silent auction, planned and executed by the auction committee led by Co-Chairs Beatrice Usher and Lora Unger, and had their photos taken in thrones fit for royalty.
As the trumpets called the nearly 300 guests for dinner, emcee John Cervenka was on hand to welcome everyone and recognize the many leaders in the room, including US Congresswoman Judy Chu; Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio; Senator Susan Rubio; Pasadena Vice Mayor Tyrone Hampton; Los Angeles County Board Supervisor Kathryn Barger; Foothill Family Board Chair Anita Lawler; and Foothill Family CEO Steve Allen.
Congresswoman Judy Chu kicked off the program by presenting Foothill with a certificate of honor congratulating the organization for serving 25,000 children and their families each year. A stunning live performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by the band, The Young Guns, accompanied a beautiful slide show filled with client stories sharing the need that our community has daily and Foothill Family’s impact. Dinner and dancing capped off the evening.
Thanks to the exceptional planning of the Benefit Committee led with grace by Co-Chairs Dr. Annette Ermshar and Sandra Plowman, a royal evening of elegance was had by all!!
