PASADENA, CA (September 30, 2024) – On October 16, Foothill Family will host its 7th Annual “Pass the Hat” luncheon at NOOR Pasadena, bringing together community members and supporters to help raise awareness and critical funds to support Foothill Family’s life-changing programs. Beginning at 11:30 AM, the luncheon will celebrate the power of community, share the impact of Foothill Family’s work, and engage in a friendly fundraising competition—all in support of vital programs that uplift and empower underserved individuals and families.
In the spirit of the agency’s founder, Josephine Marsh—who famously “passed a hat” to help neighbors in need nearly 100 years ago—the event will honor this tradition of generosity while showcasing Foothill Family’s mission to strengthen families through mental health services, early childhood development programs, school-based therapy, and youth and family support programs.
“As the need for mental health services rises at an unprecedented rate, access remains a significant barrier for many in underserved communities. Foothill Family is committed to breaking down these barriers by providing accessible and equitable care,” said Steve Allen, CEO of Foothill Family. “The ‘Pass the Hat’ luncheon represents the heart of what we do—bridging the gap between underserved communities and the support they need to thrive.”
At the luncheon, guests will enjoy networking, live music and client testimonials that highlight the impact of Foothill Family’s services. In keeping with tradition, the event will also include a friendly fundraising challenge, where each table will participate in a 4-minute fundraising competition in the same spirit of giving that has defined Foothill Family since its inception. Those not in attendance may also donate to their teams before or during the event.
This year’s event will also recognize Priscilla Hunt, CEO of Hunt Enterprises, Inc., Foothill Family is deeply honored to call Priscilla Hunt a close member of the Foothill “family.” Business leader, philanthropist, and matriarch of the Hunt, Moore, Pajarillo family, and CEO of Hunt Enterprises, Inc., Priscilla is a dedicated mother and dynamic leader, inspiring her community to come together to create transformative change.
