Foothill Family Welcomes Newest Board Members

PASADENA, Calif. – Foothill Family is proud to welcome community members Mark Repstad, Sudhir Potturi, Mark Davis, and Laurel Bear to the Foothill Family Board of Directors. Each was nominated and elected by the Board for their strengths in community and business leadership and are poised to share their time and talent in support of Foothill Family’s mission to empower children and families through community-based services that advance growth and development.

Mark Repstad is a 2003 graduate of the top ranked Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Minnesota. He started his professional career working as an analyst on state-of-the-art deepwater oilrigs in the Gulf of Mexico. In the spring of 2005 he followed his entrepreneurial passion and joined Realty Advisory Group, Inc., where he has since specialized in the acquisitions, sales, and leasing of primarily Industrial Real Estate. Focusing largely in Los Angeles County, Mr. Repstad has to date completed over 200 transactions worth $375,000,000+ in his six-year career. Combining his technical background with time spent in real world high pressure environments has allowed Mark to become very skilled at quickly identifying a client’s need and meeting that need with a timely and cost effective solution. Repstad’s clients include ESPN Productions, Inc., Toys ‘R’ Us, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Teleflex, Inc., Bergen Shippers, Allan Company, LBA Realty, KTR Capital Partners and others. He and his wife reside in San Marino with their four children. When not working he enjoys golf, basketball, and the outdoors.

Sudhir Potturi is a healthcare technology leader with years of experience implementing technology solutions at some of the nation’s largest healthcare companies and currently serves as Healthcare Consulting Senior Manager at Deloitte. Having grown up in India, Mr. Potturi understands the importance of making care available to underserved sections of our communities and brings his experience and knowledge working in healthcare to support Foothill Family’s technology strategies. Poturri is an active member of various non-profit social and cultural organizations that represent immigrant families from southern Indian states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh who are now living in Los Angeles and Orange County. Potturi has a Master’s degree in computer science from the University of North Carolina and currently lives in the Inland Empire along with his wife Kanthi, son Srihith, and daughter Ananya.

Mark A. Davis is a former Riverside County prosecutor and current criminal defense attorney who provides legal services throughout Southern California. He has been in private practice since 2003 and currently serves on the alternate defense panel in Riverside County, navigating the most serious and violent felony cases. A seasoned trial attorney, Mr. Davis also represents noncitizen defendants arrested for, charged with, or already convicted of crime. His noncitizen defense practice focuses on maintaining immigration status and keeping families together for which he has represented clients in criminal court from over 50 countries. Davis earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University, his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law, and is fluent in Spanish. His legal career was preceded by a nine-year career as a professional baseball player. He lives and works in Pasadena, California.

Dr. Laurel Bear was an educator in the Alhambra Unified School district for more than 36 years and currently serves as a consultant overseeing school curriculum for the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health. Outside of the classroom, she has served in numerous positions, including Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, Principal, Director of Special Education & Student Services and prior to retiring in 2018, Assistant Superintendent, Student/Employee Welfare. Dr. Bear has created, implemented, and operated the Alhambra Unified School District’s Gateway to Success Program, a nationally recognized school/community-based mental health and safety program. In addition to serving the students of the district, the program provides a training ground for clinical interns and therapists who deliver school-based mental health services. The Gateway approach has built what California Schools magazine 2017 winter issue called “an infrastructure of hope and opportunity.” Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Bear has received recognition and professional awards for her focus on school safety, mental health education, and suicide prevention.
