Standing with Our Community Foothill Family Responds to Fires with Essential Mental Health Services

Feb 19, 2025

PASADENA, CA – (February 3, 2025) As wildfires have left a devastating impact across the region, Foothill Family is stepping up to provide critical mental health services to affected children and families. With a deep commitment to healing and recovery, Foothill Family has mobilized its crisis therapists to provide on-the-ground support, partnering with the American Red Cross and community organizations to deliver mental health services and resources directly to local centers and affected families.

“So many families in our community are experiencing profound emotional trauma and the need for mental health support is immense,” said Steve Allen, Chief Executive Officer of Foothill Family. “Our teams have been and continue to be on the ground, providing crisis therapy to help children and families process their grief, build resilience, and find hope amid devastation. Foothill Family’s mission is to empower children and families on their journey to achieve personal success, and in times like these, that means standing with our community—not just in the immediate aftermath, but throughout the long road to healing.”

With a presence in 183 schools across 18 school districts including the heavily impacted Pasadena Unified School District, Foothill Family therapists are helping students and educators cope with grief, anxiety, and trauma while also offering therapy services to support long-term emotional recovery. Beyond the classroom, Foothill Family is providing trauma-informed counseling, workshops, and resources to help families build resilience and navigate the challenges ahead. As the demand for mental health services continues to rise in the coming weeks and months, Foothill Family remains committed to ensuring no one has to face this journey alone.
