The Friends of Foothill Family is a philanthropic group of more than 100 amazing women from Pasadena, Altadena, San Marino, La Cañada and surrounding areas who dedicate time, energy, and resources to Foothill Family.
The group was founded in 2000 by civic leaders Lori Winters Samuels and Shannon Seiter Williamson. The Friends of Foothill Family plan and coordinate Foothill Family's annual benefit, which has raised more than $2 million for Foothill Family since 2001, as well as participate in the agency’s Backpacks for Brighter Futures program during the summer and the annual Holiday Program in the fall and winter.

Friends of Foothill Family events are social in nature and meaningful in purpose. Many gatherings are open to non-members who are welcome to attend and learn about Foothill Family. Some events are free, while others are ticketed fundraisers for the organization. Get to know the Friends and join Foothill Family in building brighter futures for children and families in our communities!
The Friends of Foothill Family Outreach Committee is Adopting-A-Classroom as a side project separate from the Backpacks program, to give back to 18 high school students that we provide counseling, educationally-related mental health care and community resources to in the La Puente community. To cover supplies needed, we are asking the greater Friends group to adopt a student or students at $40 per student. Supplies include basic school necessities (pens, pencils, markers, etc.), a blanket, and a gift card. Your support is greatly appreciated to assist students in need during the ongoing pandemic stressors. We are grateful for our Friends!
