Foothill Family Exemplifies Excellence, Strengthening Community Impact and Receives 2026 Top Workplaces Culture Excellence Award for Employee Satisfaction

Jun 10, 2026

Pasadena, CA, June 10, 2026 – Foothill Family, a community-based nonprofit that works to create healthier families and stronger communities, has created a culture of excellence that drives deeper community impact. The 2026 Top Workplace Cultural Excellence Award is a reflection of Foothill Family’s longstanding commitment to delivering high-quality care while creating a positive work environment where employees are valued, empowered and appreciated.

Top Workplaces is the nation’s employer recognition program trusted by Human Resource professionals and company leadership. The award is based on an intensive employee survey distributed to all employees and verified by experts. The required response rate is 30 percent. At Foothill Family, more than 70 percent of employees participated, an exceptionally high response rate that reinforces employees’ overwhelming satisfaction.

“Our employees are the heart of Foothill Family’s mission, and when staff feel valued, connected to purpose, and empowered in their work, our entire community is stronger because of it,” said Steve Allen, Chief Executive Officer. “This recognition reflects the compassion and dedication our employees bring to children and families every day. We are honored to receive this recognition as we mark 100 years of walking alongside children and families.”

Highest Marks for Accountability Excellence
Since 1984, Foothill Family has maintained the Council on Accreditation (COA), a distinction that recognizes nonprofit organizations for meeting the most rigorous standards in service delivery and operational excellence. The accreditation process includes a comprehensive evaluation against nationally recognized best-practice standards designed to strengthen programs, enhance accountability, and improve outcomes for the individuals and families served.

Foothill Family was awarded GuideStar’s Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition for U.S. nonprofits, indicating a deep commitment to accountability by sharing comprehensive goals, strategies, metrics, and board demographics. Less than 1 percent of nonprofits achieve this top status.

Strengthening Community Impact
Each year, Foothill Family reaches more than 29,000 children, adults, and families through direct services, education, prevention, and outreach programs. Through partnerships with 177 schools across 18 school districts, Foothill Family brings mental health support directly to students where they learn and grow. Foothill Family also helps young parents build brighter futures, with 87% of participants in its teen parent programs graduating from high school, far exceeding the national average of 50%. Across every program, Foothill Family expands access to care and support for individuals and families throughout our communities.
