Foothill Family and Hunt Enterprises: Building Brighter Futures, Together

Oct 15, 2018

PASADENA, Calif. – Since its founding in Pasadena in 1926, Foothill Family’s work in the community has spanned more than four generations of change. Generational impact is something near and dear to philanthropist Priscilla Hunt, president and CEO of Hunt Enterprises, Inc., who recently made a $500,000 gift to Foothill Family.

“Supporting Foothill Family elevates the importance of two cornerstones in my life – philanthropy and family,” said Mrs. Hunt. “From a young age, I had been taught to share what I have with those around me, no matter the amount. I hope I have instilled that same care for family and community in my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren through not just my words, but most importantly, my actions.”

Foothill Family’s mental health care, early childhood development and school-based behavioral health programs, and youth and family services support multiple stages of human development which often intersect and overlap to provide a continuum of care for clients. With a holistic approach to care, programs include family in a way that mobilizes parents, children, extended family members, and/or friends to establish a scaffold of support, reinforcement, and accountability to ensure lasting change. Foothill Family’s office in the city of Duarte will now be named the Donald and Priscilla Hunt Family Center, honoring the legacy of Mrs. Hunt’s late husband Donald, founder of Hunt Enterprises, Inc. Headquartered in the South Bay, Hunt Enterprises is an investment real estate company that develops and manages their own high-quality residential communities and commercial properties throughout Southern California. Through quality housing; sound investments; a staff of skilled, knowledgeable, experienced professionals; and an active commitment to California’s future as their blueprint for success, Hunt Enterprises is the literal embodiment of Foothill Family’s mission to build brighter futures for children and families.

“We are incredibly honored to embrace the Hunt family as part of our Foothill Family,” said Foothill Family Chief Executive Officer Steve Allen. “Mrs. Hunt is an exemplary community leader whose passion for life, love of family, and unyielding generosity will lead to the brighter future that Foothill Family and Hunt Enterprises both envision.”

For more than 90 years, Foothill Family has served Southern California in its mission to empower children and families to achieve success in relationships, school, and work through community-based services that advance growth and development. The agency has earned a reputation for providing high-quality services that establish the foundation for brighter futures in which individuals and families thrive, communities are strengthened, and generations are enriched. Last year, Foothill Family’s life-changing programs and outreach touched more than 23,800 lives. For more information, please call (626) 993-3000 or visit www.foothillfamily.org.
