2022 Adopt-A-Classroom
Back-to-School Program
Last year with the generosity of friends like you, Foothill Family impacted 1,000 students from underserved communities in 19 school districts across the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys through the Beyond Backpacks for Brighter Futures program. For more than 20 years, the Friends of Foothill Family have led the effort to provide kids receiving our services with essential school supplies.
96% of teachers buy school supplies so their students don’t go without.
That is why our 2022 Adopt-A-Classroom Back-to-School program is so important. This year, the program will impact our school partners in new and exciting ways, working directly with teachers and administrators to identify the unique needs of each classroom during these challenging times. Often times, students need more than just a backpack to get them through the school year.
About Backpacks for Brighter Futures
Started in 2001 by the Friends of Foothill Family, the Backpacks for Brighter Futures program provides backpacks filled with books, crayons, pencils, markers, paper, and other supplies to 1,000 young low-income Foothill Family clients each year.
Thanks to the generosity of local volunteers and donors, Backpacks for Brighter Futures has grown from serving only children from the Pasadena Unified School District to a comprehensive effort reaching students from elementary, middle, and high schools in Pasadena, Duarte, El Monte, Pomona, West Covina, and surrounding areas. Making a difference for families in need, our Backpacks for Brighter Futures program brings together the generosity of local individuals and corporations willing to bridge the gap for local children.
